The Lady Demons put up a great fight but unfortunately the season ended in the District Finals following a 0-4 loss to Strongsville. Congratulations to the players and coaches on a fantastic season and a thrilling ride this past week. Westlake 2 Amherst 1

The upset party continued on Monday night with the Lady Demons defeating 3rd seeded Amherst 2-1. Emma Jaros got the Demons on the board first followed by Sami Jablonski extending the lead to 2-0. The Comets quickly closed the gap with a goal of their own but stellar defense and an incredible night in goal by Lilly Voiklis secured the victory.

Westlake 5 Magnificat 4

The 7th seeded Lady Demons upset the 2nd seed Magnificat in Penalty Kicks on Thursday night. Summer Salem evened the game at 1-1 in the second half off a Lydia Choban free kick. After two 15 minute overtimes the game remained tied and went to penalty kicks. Sami Jablonski, Jenna Kowalski, Lydia Choban and Katie Gallagher scored for Westlake. Lily Voiklis saved the first two Magnificat kicks and then watched as the final kick sailed wide right of the goal.

The Lady Demons beat cross town rival Bay Village 1-0 on Saturday night. After a scoreless first half the Demons got on the board when Stephanie Randar scored her first goal of the season from a Summer Salem free kick.

The Lady Demons got back to their winning ways with a 4-2 victory over Lakewood on Wednesday night. The goals were scored by Anna Williams, Sophia Kontak and Sami Jablonski. With the victory the Demons improve to 3-2-2 in SWC conference play.

The Lady Demons fell to the #4 ranked Brunswick Lady Blue Devils 3-1 on Saturday night. Brunswick was coming off a win against #2 ranked Medina. The Demons battled all game long and kept things close until the last minutes of the second half. Sami Jablonski scored the lone goal.

Westlake @ North Ridgeville

The Lady Demons were shutout for the first time this season by North Ridgeville on Wednesday night. The win moved the Rangers into sole possession of 1st place in the SWC. Lilly Voiklis had a great night in net saving 4 shots on goal by a high powered Rangers offense. The Demons were shorthanded offensively due to a flu bug going around.

The Lady Demons got a big 3-1 victory over Clay on Saturday. Clay is currently receiving votes in the OSSCA Division 1 State Poll. Clay scored the first goal but the Demons tied things up on a Summer Salem penalty kick. Later in the second half Jenna Kowalski gave the Demons the lead with her first goal of the year. A few minutes later Sami Jablonski scored to help secure the victory.

The Lady Demons tied 2-2 with SWC rival Avon on Wednesday night. Sami Jablonski scored both goals for the Demons including one on a free kick after the Avon goal keeper was red carded. With the draw both teams remain 2-1-2 in SWC conference play.
